You have probably heard that wood swells when it gets wet and shrinks when it dries. The various weather cycles can cause wood to split, crack, check and experience other issues. To minimize these concerns, it’s important to paint, stain or seal your project as soon as possible. In the past, people waited six months or longer to finish their project. That is no longer the case with newer treatments like MCA. We recommend you paint, stain or seal within 30 days of completion. Keep in mind, CULPEPER KDAT products are ready to be sealed immediately while our products treated with CULPEPER Aquashield may withstand the elements longer.
